They all differ christine so the best thing to do is ring the consultant's secretary. Some call it a 6 week check but rarely takes place at 6 weeks. The ideal time is 6-8 weeks but as I said they are all different but some don't see their patients post op and leave your care to your GP. Wasn't anything mentioned?

An 18 month wait is shocking chris and way outside government recommendations. Surely any hospital making patients wait so long must need to be put in "special measures" if they aren't already.

Hi Matron, nice to have you back, I know it is terrible for everyone where I live, I know people that having being paying to go to France for ops but sadly we can't all afford that. There are sometimes no doctors at the surgery, only nurses, although I prefer to see the nurse she seems much better informed. I am going to need more surgery as well so, not holding my breath.

I know prolapse surgery is rarely classed as urgent but it very often affects ladies emotionally and psychologically and waiting 18 months is unacceptable. I would have really struggled to wait that long as I'm sure you did chris. xx

Yes I did struggle and if I hadn't cried to the nurse, who got angry and rang the hospital, I think I would still be waiting.

Turning on the water works does help. But joking aside it's scandalous and I think patients should be making waves if they haven't already.

Hi Christine my op was 10th May and my follow up appointment with the surgeon is 19 sept (but I had to move it back 2 weeks as I'm on holiday. I'm in Scotland. Surgeon says it takes 4 months for stitches to dissolve but I did have a fixation done as well as A&P repair.

Hi Chris I've not had any hip pain thankfully I did have really sore buttock pain for the first 2 weeks and it seems to return Along with my period for some strange reason. Regarding the front vaginal wall mines also looks like the prolapse big ball thing but it's about 2 inches up inside the vagina but I'm sure it's still swelling as the back wall was the same but it's fine now. I still get a heavy full feeling when I've been overdoing it. I've been trying some keels but I'm not very good at them do invested in a machine but just waiting on doc coming back to me to see when it's safe to use.
