Has anyone come off amitryptyline and been put straight on to mirtazapine?

    All depends on why you were on this drug, were you taking it for depression or nerve damage.

    The drug above is an old medication and can have certain bad side effects. Mirtazapine is a cleaner more understanding medication I understand.

    I have taken Amytryptalene now for many years, I take it for nerve damage caused by a form of Arthritis. My attitude is if it is not broke do not fix it. Although your GP will have good reasons for the change. Be advised by him as He/She knows what they want to achieve

      I was put on amitryptyline for sleep. I was taking 50mg for years and it stopped working. I am no better off on mirtazapine to be honest.
