Has anyone experienced weight gain with flu?

allright folks?
Miscellaneous is my new name now, was iamalone but not anymore. LOL
Just want to know if any1 gained any weight with flu? Flu is a treatment for people with bulimia nervosa too. I'm skinny (6\"2 and only 10 stone) and I have been since I can remember. I realized a few months ago that my depression effects my appetite. When ever I'm depressed I literally have no hunger at all. Far to lazy to eat like that, the pure thought of just eating something makes me feel sick?
So I really hope that I will gain some weight, for the first time in my life I would be normal! Would be fantastic.
All the best.

When i started taking Flu i lost nearly 2 stones (was 17, went down to 15.3). Im 6' 5\" so the more weight I lose, the worse I look...and people start noticing it and saying things.
BUT, since the Flu really kicked in ive managed to get my weight back up as my appetite for everything came back...especially sweet things. Im a much healthier 15 stone 9lbs now and much fitter as I play as much sport as I can to take out my frustrations and angers plus sport releases a chemical in the brain that raises your happiness!!
The effects are certainly different with everyone...my advice is to keep food around you as often as you can so when you feel slightly peckish, you can have something...nuts and raisins are great as they have lots of protein in them and are easy to pick at.
Hope you are doing well, keep up the good work.

I feal realy tired 2day. Slept like a baby tho last night.
Thats a shame, I was really hoping that weight gain would be a side effect.
I wonder how flu helps people who suffer with Bulimia.
I too have a craving for sweet things recently.
I'm 2\" shorter than you HT but weigh less than 2 thirds of what you weigh. I need and want to gain 5 stones, so thats half of what I weigh now. Don't know how I should do that.

Im shattered too besides the fact i slept for a straight 8 hours also...damn Flu i blame!!
The best way to gain weight is bulking up down the gym as muscle is heavier than fat. If you want to get fatter, then dairy is my nemesis - too much of that and i put on weight too easily. Chocolate, cheese, cream, all the \"C's\" really!!
I cant imagine being 10 stone, how do you feel about being that weight - didnt you say you've always been very slim tho?

Yes I have always been slim.
I don't really know, maybe ashamed, imbarresed, frustrated and that. I wear an extra layer of clothes so I don't look that skinny. One of the reasons I feal depressed really. Think it's the reason why I don't get girls. Would be a dream come true.
I must have a really high metabolism. Maybe I'll go to the gym. Had a few days since I'm on flu like if I have exsesive energy waiting to burst out. lol. Was stretching all the time. Felt like if I could run a mile or something.

Ive never been slim, always been bordering obese since i was 16....now 26 and im the lightest ive ever been since I was in my early-mid teens!! I love the fact that so many of my old clothes fit me again.
I have a friend who is your height, but weighed around 9 stone until recently. He was always skinny - he just had no desire to eat. He wasnt anorexic or anything, just only ate if and when he remembered! Now hes been going to the gym, eats 3-4 times per day and has bulked right up to around 12 stones and looks much better for it. Im not saying you should do this but it may make you feel better to have a go if you feel you can.
You shouldnt ever be ashamed of being slim, there are millions of people out there who would love to weigh as much as you do...be happy with your weight and you will feel happier in yourself and soon you will put on weight without trying. But unless you learn to be happy with yourself and can accept that you are the way you are, then you will struggle with making most changes in your life.
The fact that you have found this website and are speaking to strangers like myself says that you are making great steps on the way to recovery and positive changes in your life. You dont need to make massive leaps every day, just small steps to make life easier, better, happier.
For me something as simple as phoning a stranger at work to ask for information has always been a big issue until recently when i decided to do it as often as possible - i combatted my fears and now find it much easier to do and deal with.
Im not the best person to speak to regarding Girls as ive been in a relationship for nearly 9 years so couldnt chat up a girl if my life depended on it!! Hopefully some single guys on here will be able to offer some pointers to you.

Some wise words you have.
Reading that about your friend sounded like if it was me. Without the last part tho. LOL
When I will have time I'll go. I should.
Feeling a bit down again, I guess flu is still not fully working yet.

Glad to make ya laugh, it was a rare treat when I started Flu.
So about now you should be feeling the full affects of Flu, it took a good 3-4 wks til it got right into my system but then i knew it was there. Have you noticed any mood swings - like a yoyo? One min ur up, the next ur down?? Thats how i was...so glad it went!!
Mate, just do the best you can to change ur life in a positive way - be it giving up drinking, smoking, changing career, exercising more etc - anything that will make u feel better about ur life will help this damned depression go faster.
I have worked in Finance since i left uni nearly 3 years ago and have gone from a high-flying accountant to a finance administrator just because i didnt want the pressure anymore. I feel so much better and luckily i got into a company that is full of decent people, not corporate morons!
I saw the doc ystdy and he told me im prob gonna be on Flu til summer...it'll be 26 weeks on the beast! But as much as i wanna get off of it, i dont wanna go back to how i was before so ill see how much more help it can give me b4 i wean myself off.
you take it easy and speak to u soon amigo

how are you today?
Yes, I am feeling effects from flu it's a good feeling. Wen't thru mood swings the last two weeks. Wasn't good! Must have had a minor mood swing yesterday.
I'm really tired in the morning now. I can hardly keep my eyes open, coffee is not doing the trick either.
The next change I'm gonna make is move flat soon, have to anyway. My current flat is adding to my depression I think. Flat is really nice but not cosey. It has weird vibes I guess. I feel like if I crawlled back into my shell since I moved in there last Summer.
Moving flat will do me good I think.
All the best

Feeling ok today - have my ups and downs thru out the day and get over them somehow.
you ok amigo?
Glad the Flu is kicking in, its a sweet feeling when it begins to work as you start to feel normal again. As long as you keep taking it as usual and dont do anything to change the effects i.e. forget a pill, get wasted and suffer with a mental hangover, then you will be fine.
I have only jsut started sleeping well again so mornings are a right pain in the @rse. Alarm screams at 7:15 and I just want to throw it at the wall!! Tea works a charm for me but caffeine is an irritant for Flu so im told but aint nothing stopping me having my cuppa!!
Are you living on your own dude? Ever thought about getting a flat-mate or sharing a house so you have someone to chat with and to help you get out and try new things? Not as easy as it sounds but certainly helped me when i was at uni and depressed.
Take it easy,
