Have been on Prozac for about 3 years.. Was working, but now experiencing some adverse reactions?

Hi everyone,

I've been on Prozac for about 3 years now. It was working nicely for my depression and anxiety for a while but noticed some adverse reactions after I tried stopping Prozac cold turkey. I told my psychiatrist about this, and he suggested I go back on my Prozac and I did so. I take 40 mg (Two 20 mg capsules) daily. My anxiety is at an all time high, and I've noticed my depression is back. I've been having memory issues, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. Should I ask my doctor to taper me off Prozac for good? Will my memory/concentration return to normal after being off Prozac?

Thanks,

Shelby

    Hey Shelby,

I’m glad i came across your post because I used to have everyone harass me about slowly tapering and were always like NEVER go cold turkey. but i actually did as of 8 days ago and i haven’t had any severe reactions, really just agitation and irritability but that’s like daily for me lol i feel so much better off of it!
