Have I got IBS?

Hello sorry I'm new to this forum so I hope you mind me sharing my experience with you. I've always had a sensitive stomach and have suffered on / off with a painful bloated stomach.
However, the last 6 months I have had really bad symptoms. I wake up every night feeling very sick and can't lie on my side so I have to sit up in bed because I feel like my stomach is bloated and there is a heavy feeling in my lower stomach that doesn't seem to move. I then feel throughout the same day that same feeling of pain and bloated in my stomach. It's unbearable and when I go running I can feel this lump that's right inside my stomach that's causing this discomfort. I'm convinced it's more than IBS but every time I go to the docs they say it's IBS and give me Omeprozole which gave me bad side effects so I stopped taking them. Now I'm just freestyling and trying to find foods that are making it worse. I've never before had this feeling and it's affecting my day to day life and I don't know what else to do??
Please can anyone relate to this and offer any help? Does this sound like IBS? Thank you

It is common for IBS patients to doubt their diagnosis. However, the more you doubt, the worse your symptoms will be. Trust your doctor and your diagnosis of IBS especially since they keep confirming Irritable Bowel. Try a food diary and the Low Fodmap diet.

Thanks for much for your advice. I've had 5 days without stomach pain or waking up in the night! The more I dont think about it the better it is so that advice was so helpful thank you. I'm trying to do more yoga and headspace to relax me which is helping. Do you think I potentially had gastritis on top of IBS which is why it was so bad?

Hello thanks so much for your response. The head and gut are very closely linked and I've tried not to stress about my stomach too much and the pain has gone so great advice! It's very strange that it can flare up so badly and then disappear. I did think I had a stomach ulcer but now that the pain has gone I don't think I do. Sorry to hear you had a problem with your Gallbladder - how did you test for it as apparently a blood test doesn't show it. I asked for a proper blood test of my kidneys and liver etc but they said because they came back healthy a year ago I didn't need to. I think if I try and not stress then my stomachs fine but even the smallest amount of anxiety can make my stomach terrible
