Having mysterious severe bouts of abdominal pain..

Alright so for 3 days straight,I have had on and off episodes of abdominal pain. I'm a female,on birth control,so I know it's not due to my menstrual cycle,or being pregnant,I am on the Depo shot. Anyway the pain when it occurs, feels sharp, crampy, and stabbing. The pain occurs mainly in one localized area, around my stomach..however,sometimes I'll feel the pain on my right side. The pain is so bad, that I can barely stand up without being in great discomfort. Yesterday,I had a weird episode where after I ate dinner,my stomach and abdomen went into a painful muscle spasm. Now as I type this,my stomach has been in pain for several hours..It hurts so bad,i want to cry. My dad had his gallbladder removed several years ago,and I was told there was a chance I might have to have mine removed, since gallbladder issues run in my family. Could my pain be due to a gallbladder issue?

Sounds a bit like gall bladder issues, I would go get it checked out. If you eat fatty food it should be bad a while after.

You need to see your doctor for some tests. It could be many thingsuch as appendicitis , gall bladder issue or ectopic pregnancy. Even if you are taking pills sometimes it could happen. Or perhaps bowel blockage.kidney stones can also cause stomach pain on the right side of the stomach. Try not to take your pain lightly because your body is telling you that there is something going on in your stomach that needs attention right away. Maybe you also have urinary infection or ovarian cyst which could happen. My daughter had them twice and had tone rushed to the hospital. Only the doctor can order some tests to see the inside of you stomach but I wouldn't wait that long. I had my gallbladder removed two months ago because of back pain but less of stomach pain, mostly burning feeling on my back and frequent indigestions. I hope you will get your answers to your pain problem Update us. Good luck.

It sounds like it might be. Go to your GP and ask to be referred for tests.

Usually pain is accompanied by other symptoms: pain in right shoulder, sickness, diarrhoea, nausea, loss of appetite, general feeing of being unwell, right sided headaches, tiredness. You may only get one of these or all. Everyone seems to get an assortment of the above but the one main symptom of cholecystitis is unbearable pain (sometimes rh side of abdomen, sometimes centralised). Keep a note of what you eat, so you can tell if it's caused by foods like pies, pizza, fish and chips, curries etc. If it is, avoid the foods that cause the pain until you can see a specialist.

Go to your doctor and tell him/her to check for gallbladder stones first, that is very very dangerous. My grandma's gallbladder explodes and since that she had Kidney problems and ended up receiving dialisis and eventually died.
