Hello Deborah. I am 10 days post op for posterior repair and vaginal vault prolapse.

my surgery went well, couple of minor complications since but I am doing well recovering.

Any specific questions please ask. Good luck, when are you having this op?

I had a general anaesthetic. Surgery was about 3pm on the 17th September. I was back in the ward by about half 6. Chatted away for hours with my boyfriend and daughter. I felt so well.

i was up and about the next day, had the vaginal pack and catheter removed in the morning. But I had trouble urinating on my own so had to have the catheter re-inserted that evening. I came home from hospital on Sat 19th with the catheter in place.

i did struggle a lot last week but have definitely turned a corner this weekend and feel loads better now.

I'm in South London. Went to St Helier Hospital. I had fantastic care. I was terrified beforehand too. One bit of advice though is to not get constipated. I took loads of stuff for a few days before the op to make sure I was as empty as possible! You'll be fine.

I took about a four day course of colon cleanse supplements. Didn't need anything the morning of surgery as I went to the toilet enough naturally! Bowels did not open though until the Monday after the op and I had to use a suppository to help things along. I was sent home with a bottle of lactulose and I drank a glass of prune juice daily too. I have to say today is the first day I've been to the toilet with no help. It will get you down, but I promise it does goes better.

Haha no I don't mind you asking! I'm 45. I had a hysterectomy due to prolapse when I was 28, then a bladder repair op about 3 years after. I've had no problems in the last 15 years then this! I understand there is a 30% chance that I may prolapse again in the future, and I expect I will need another op when I'm in my 60s!

i was in bits when everything prolapsed and I was told I needed surgery. I felt really old, flabby, unsexy. And coming home from hospital with a catheter strapped to my right leg made me feel even more disgusting! I couldn't wee without the bag, I couldn't poo without medication! But that was last week.

This week I'm feeling good and I can walk, and sit down easier!

Surgery for posterior prolaps usually consists of excising a strip of your posterion vaginal wall and suturing the edged back so as the vagina is tightened and made firm again.

Hi. I had this op plus a vaginal vault repair 14 weeks ago today. I had it done under a spinal block so was awake throughout. It was absolutely fine. Luckily I had no infection or complications so have recoered very well. My only problem was constipation - going to the loo for the first time post op was incredibly painful so be prepared for that. Get lots of Movicol sachets from your Doctor before op so you can take them to avoid constipation. I was taking 4 a day and now still take two. Rest, rest and more rest in the first few weeks - let your body heal. It will all be fine and the results are, in my case anyway, fantastic! Good luck.
