Having Trouble with Daily Tasks Because of OCD

Hey everyone,

So I got an infection last year, pretty badly in my lower leg. Both my legs went red, and the doctors thought it was Cellulitis and it kept spreading no matter my antibiotics and the doctor's not having a clue terrified me. Turns out it was gravitational excema not cellulitis. And the Staph aureus in my wound cleared up.

I've always had minor OCD but followng this infection my OCD has one out of control.

I can't touch my lower legs, or anything they'd touched. I can't touch the bottom of my bed, sides of chairs, etc.

The biggest issue I have is putting trousers on. Because they pass the part of my leg that has was infection, I can't put them on because then they're touching my waist and I feel unclean and uncomfortable and worry it'll spread.

I've been doing CBT and exposure work with a therapist and we've got to the point where I'm calmer around most other things if there's been a bridge/transitions but directly touching things that've touched my legs---I just can't break the barrier. And I can't even dress myself without crying. It's really difficult. And I need help and advice from people who have or work with OCD.

Thank you.
