He told me afterwards he had herpes

Im so ashamed of myself. Sinking myself into depression. We didn't have sex but i gave him unprotected oral on the tip of his penis as well as a lot of kissing.

And then later he admitted that he has herpes on the Base of his penis! I have a couple questions.

If my mouth didnt touch the affected area am i unlikely to have it?

If he had it on his genitals and saw no cold sores, and you get it in both places?

If touched his penis and then fingered me could he of passed it on?

Whats the earliesr symptoms appear?

    Doesn't matter where he has it on his penis. Whenever the virus is active, which can occur both with and without visible lesions, his entire anogenital area is potentially shedding at levels capable of transmitting. It also matters, to an extent, which HSV type he has. Earliest time to symptoms is 2-5 days. Did he have lesions at the base of his penis at the time?

      A lesion is an abnormality of the skin, in the case of herpes, usually a blister, ulcer, bump or sore.

      I only touched the tip of his penis with my mouth. He told me afterwards that he had "a tiny scab at the very Base"
