I have just started taking Amitripyline for joint pain ( toes).  I am on 10mg. It has helped but I now wake up with a headache, is it okay to take paracetamol with this tablet?

I have definitely taken Paracetamol with AMI. With advice from doc. Paracetamol, used as recommended is one of the safest interactive drug. And if you take it in the morning, after time has elapsed between Ami and Parcetamol (assuming you take your Ami at bed time), you may have a better chance of avoiding adverse interaction.

But maybe you should consult your doctor or pharmacist first as everyone is different and reacts differently.

Hope it alleviates your joint pain and does not cause you any other problems in the meantime. Is it expected to actually cure your condition????

Thank you Rose, I have tried everything!, Was told I had a bit of Arthritis, the pain is terrible.  Have spent a fortune on Insoles ect, so this is my last hope. I go to the swimming baths and walk through the water, it helps a bit.  Sorry for rambling on!! and thanks again

Yes absolutely fine paracetamol no problem but stop taking it as it becomes addictive and so hard to get off. Don't go on gabapentin either as that's worse. They are great drugs but withdrawal horrendous.
