Healing from haemoroidoctomy. Wanting advice

i am day 8 after my haemoroidoctomy. not going to lie, the pain has been rough but started yesterday to itch yesterday and today it's even worse, it woke me up. I'm trying so hard not to itch but it's so hard and then i itch it and then i give myself more pain.
i know itching is a common effect for healing but how have people coped with the itching? i have countless sitz baths and showers keeping the area clean and used anesthetic gel along with ice packs and nothing is soothing it. help! 😪

Im sorry to hear. We are the same day post-op. My site is also itching. I have been using sitz baths, showers and tucks pads along with the cold packs. Honestly, Im just happy the constant pain has subsided - I'll take the itch any day over that pain!

didn't know what tucks was until i just googled it. that's a good idea!
i have the pain and the itch but ate a fair bit today and then it just hit me that now its more to come out. the pain when i pass a BM is excruciating!
I'm not counting on much sleep tonight. im dosed up on tramadol, co codomal and ibuprofen

Tucks really help heal and keep clean. Are you taking a stool softener daily? My doctor has me on colace 2-3 doses daily along with benefiber twice daily. Im sorry your still in so much pain. I hope you find some relief soon.

my bowels have always been an issue, i get badly constipated and i have bad ibs flare ups so i take laxatives when i need to but i can't handle them, they give stomach cramps and make me feel ill, but after 2 days i thought i need help to go, i took movicol, fybergel, ducolax, everything. i couldn't go, day after day i had no luck until the hospital wanted to see me, they gave me lactulose, now this used to be my worst one, took that with the rest, nothing happened and took some more a few hours later and then finally after 5 days i went. it was a hard stool as well! ive been taking movicol or lactulose every 2 days and gone more regulary, think laxatives finally kicked in, went 5 times other night! i know my bowel habits well and wouldn't have said id have gone yesterday but i did with no stool softener, i went twice and the pain was hurrendous. took movicol tonight to hopefully work tomorrow!
