Healing of Genital Herpes, is this a complication?! Help!

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi everyone, I'm freaking out! I'm healing from my first HSV-2 outbreak and it seems as though the inner labia are sticking together from the lesions in that area that are healing. Should I be worried that my labia will be permanently stuck together or is this all part of the healing process?! Has anyone experienced this?

Not sure, but I would think they wouldn't heal shut/together. What's making them stick? Scabbing together? I would soak my bum in a warm bath, maybe with some soothing Epsom salts too. The warm water should soften the scabbing and allow you to painlessly seperate them. If you're worried about it, maybe try calling a nurse on call, the phone number is usually found in front pages of phone book. Or call the office of the doc who diagnosed you? Or do you have a "My Chart" online for your medical history, billing, etc? There's an option to message your doctor and you can ask them that way. I used that a lot for questions.

Forgot to mention, my labia sores did crust and get stuck to my underwear couple times without my realizing it till I pulled them down. Yikes!!!! But I think that's pretty different than your concern.... But yes, they can stick to things/yourself! Maybe try some kind of powder to keep things dry?
