I'm going to use the forum to lay everything on the table. This will be the last post I make and the last time I google symptoms. Okay, here it goes...
Starting about 3 months ago I started to get this tickle in my throat that would make me hack and clear my throat for a good 15 minutes straight. I saw about 4 doctors within the first month to a month and a half. After none of the meds helped (omep for a few or two/ allergy meds for a week or two) I felt helpless...
I decided then to make a appointment with a ENT that was very thorough and did a larynoscopy. ( looked at my vocal cord or whatever) After googling a bit, I came up with the idea that I had lingual tonsil cancer. Since then I had visted twice more, the last time he took a small mirror and looked at my lingual tonsils. He basically hinted at me that I needed to see a psycheatrist, or basically get better anxiety meds. and I can feel a lump. I am going to make another appointment to see him asap. In the mean time I have been so anxious and worked up, I almost throw up when I think about it.
ps: I am 19 and a male
I smoked cigarrettes from age 17-18 (quit about 7 or so months ago)
Had pretty bad health anxiety since I was a about 13.

You don't have cancer. Health anxiety can and does convince you have all kinds of illness and Google will only drive that advantage home.
To put your mind at ease on the subject, get a second opinion. Promise yourself that if testing proves your fine, you will accept it and go on with life.
Health anxiety is rough.. No matter the out come at your next Dr appt do seek treatment for the anxiety. Doesn't have to be treated with meds if you don't wish. There are many ways to control it but make sure you follow through because health anxiety works like this.... You will go to the Dr, he will tell you that you don't have cancer in your throat and testing will prove this as well so you will accept it but then some time later you will get a headache, chest pains or some other symptom. You will Google, Google will tell you that you have heart disease, cancer or some other dangerous disease and you will go Dr hopping once more because you are scared out of your mind.
I know health anxiety is rough, I have been dealing with it for many years. You aren't alone

I'm going through this as well. I have one behind my left ear and a few big ones going down the left side of my neck plus having other symptoms and I haven't been sick or anything. I for over a month now and I am doing my very best to remain calm till I see the ent on Friday.
Lymph nodes swell for all kinds of reasons. Have you been checking them a lot?? I know if you like them to much they will swell... give it a few days and see if it goes down and if it doesn't make an appt to see your Dr.

Mine has swelled before, even years ago when I was a kid. You will often see doctors when doing examinations gently feeling either side of your neck below jaw to see if nodes are swollen, they come up when you are feeling ill or run down , also groin area. Mine always go down aftter few days,if yours don't check with doc but can be quite normal, know anxiety makes us think the worst but even worry can run us down and we may think why are these swollen when I feel fine. I can feel fine , I know they just come and go. Try not to worry??
