Hearing Loss labyrinthitis

I was diagnosed with viral labyrinthitis about 1 month ago now initially the symptoms were vertigo and nausea which got better with medication in about or week or two after that, however about two weeks ago I started experiencing hearing loss and ringing in my left ear which eventually spread to my right one and I am now essentially deaf in both ear. Initially the doctors thought the issue was caused by a build-up of wax in my ears so they they removed it , the ringing has gone down since then but i still cannot hear is there a chance I could lose my hearing permanently ?
