    Hi there,

I’m taking 15mg but not sure it’s helping my anxiety at all. I think the idea behind it is that it is supposed to help you sleep and lift your mood but not sure how affective it is for anxiety. I would speak to your GP / doctor. You may need to increase to 15mg but they are the best people to decide this

    Best wishes

Hi Chris yes that is what my GP told me. Mirt does not really target anxiety, but aids sleep and lifts mood. It has been effective in that way for me.

HI Chris, the best advice to anybody taking MIRTAZAPINE IS TO GET OFF IT ASAP.  I can't begin to tell you how many people are suffering on this awful medication. If you have trouble sleeping there are other ways and much less dangerous addictive meds to help with that. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!!!!. Increasing it make you so much worse. Its not a way to help us the Doctors are ill-informed. .Nearly everybody on this forum. are so ill from taking this drug. Doctors will keep increasing it thats because the body gets used to the lower dose and they think by increasing it that youll feel better  NOT THE CASE BELEIVE ME.  Im proof of that and please read on here how others are suffering on this poison. go to utube and look it up and listen to other trying to get off thus dam drug.   My GP Doctor is reducing me off it .i was on 45mg at night now im on 30 at night. I hate taking it because the side effects are so dreadful. I have so many bad things going on in my head. Im usually a positive and good person but this drug has changed me into a different person . believe me  TO ALL YOU YOU stop this drug. YOU WILL NOT FEEL BETTER.

Hi Susan, i would get off the Mirtazapine as your side effects will become stronger. Beleive me ive gone through them. My Doctor is lowering me from 45 mg down to 30mg. I am really really having a terrible time getting off this drug. Please talk to your Doctor to get off it. If they dont listen to you find another Doctor who will. Thye put ius on these awful drugs and they have no idea how bad the side effects are for us all. The other meds diazepam your taking , ask your Doctor if it is addictive as in the more you take the more you will need to have any effect in helping you to calm down your anxiety. its a vicious circle. Have you ever tried mindfulness meditation?. go on utube and really work on doing it as it does help ease anxiety. There is a drug called Seroquel that im on and told is not addictive may help you,  so ask your Doctor okay. all the best to you. feel free to reply to me . are you on face book?. all the best to you.
