Yes I get them. I never had them before the menopause transition. I get a tight chest too. It's all part of it. I really didn't think hormones did all this

Thanks, it can get very scary at times. I have afib and with all this going on I can't tell if it is menopause or afib. Doctors don't know either.

I was the same way until I got on some medication for it. I for one do not like taking medicine. I went as long as I could without it but just couldn't do any more. During menopause or perimenopause our bodies go through estergon withdrawal and it does some wicked things to our bodies. Glad we have a forum to talk about this on.

Hi Linda... yes, I experience this sometimes, usually with panic attacks.

I have panic and anxiety and these heart palpations don't help at all. Thanks for the input. Guess we all need some kind of support.

Hi Linda. Yes, I've experienced palpating during menopause. Ive been going through menopause for 6-7 years now and I'm 49 years old. I also have thyroid issues which is probably contributing to it as well. Prior to having my thyroid removed I was experiencing mild heart palpitations. However, they've gotten worse since I've been taking thyroid meds. You should consult your primary care doctor or a cardiologist immediately. heard that a lot of estrogen meds contributed to palpitations as well. Be careful on the estrogen meds you take. Please be care with that. On a good note; A Healthy veggie diet always helps & light exercise helps. Preferably broccoli & cauliflower & light walking.  Good luck Hun!

I have had palpitations since 2009, when all of this crazy menopause stuff started. I was recently diagnosed with Afib and now have to take meds. Meds control the rate, but not the rhythm, so I still have palpitations. If I use Estrace vaginal cream they are much worse. This is such a difficult time. I don't know who I am anymore. I pray a lot, that is my saving grace during all of this craziness. Hugs to all.

Do yours last for a week or more? The things we have to go through!  I have been diagnosed with afib also but I don't think these palpations have anything to so with that. Not even the my cardiologist knows!

Mine is persistent Afib, it is present 24-7. I'm having to adjust to another new normal. Just more of this craziness.
