Hello all, happy new year.
I am on my 3rd day of propanolol and I like to monitor my heart rate just to make sure everything is okay. Before I started taking propanolol for anixety I was taking prozac (10mg) and my heart rate would vary from 75-99 bpm. Now it's down to about 59-64bpm. The reason why I was started on propanolol is because of the shakyness and the heart palpitations and now that I have only two days on propanolol, I no longer feel the palpitations, but now my heart rate is a little low and it's kind of scaring me. What do you guys think?

Of course if in doubt always check back with your doctor but from what I have heard about propanolol that is to be expected and is fine, my husband has that heart rate naturally and his doctor is happy with it so it's certainly not dangerously low or anything, it's just your meds doing their job.

i'm no doctor but sounds like your meds are working perfectly,im on propanolol 40mg about to go to 80mg, my resting heart rate is 56 and doent go much more when im walking aroung 65, for the records some athletes have heart rates in there 40s, i wouldn't worry at all, propranolol is a great medicine . take care

And I'll try my best to not live in fear. Anxiety has such a way of taking control. I was suppose to start nursing school this month, but I had to put it on hold because everything hit me all at once around 4 months ago. It's terrible, I'm surprised I was able to graduate from college.

It does but don't let it control you, I was awake at 3am this morning having multiple panick attacks I don't have a clue why but I got through it we have to be strong, it's only anxiety that's what I keep saying we won't die lol it's hard though! Xx
