Heavy bleeding with clots

Hi everyone, this is my first post. I’m 42 and for the last couple of years on/off have been having symptoms of peri menopause. I’ve had hot flushes but not regular. But the biggest things is the heavy bleeding, for the last few months it’s been 2 weeks and sometimes with clots. Does anyone else have this?

Hi and yes, I'm the same. I am 45 and started spotting after exercise (running) last year. Had all sorts of investigations and 2 biopsies but all seems fine, apart from a small fibroid which they struggled to remove.
I have since stopped running which is driving me mad but what's even worse is that my periods are just ridiculously heavy now. No pain but super heavy and with clots.
I have been prescribed transexamic acid and this helps a lot. Ibuprofen also reduces my bleeding. Have also been put on the mini pill but that's made them longer and I'm told it might take several months for my body to get used to it.
How are you coping with them?
I don't have any other symptoms. Yet!

I’ve started taking iron tablets and I’ve also been recommended to take magnesium (hopefully they come today), I’m also going to have ibuprofen when my next period starts as I’ve heard they can reduce the bleeding. Fingers crossed I see an improvement this month with the amount of bleeding/clots. Hope you continue to be symptom free xx

Hi, forgot to say, google Vitamin A and periods as there are some studies to suggest that this has helped in quite a few cases. I've started taking this too and according to the survey improvements were reported after just 35 or so days so fingers crossed (I am on day 20 ish now).
The mini pill has actually made it worse as I would get random bleeds so I'm going to give it another 2 months to see if it settles as promised. Not sure what I'd choose if not - heavy regular bleeds or lighter random one! Probably the lighter as those heavy ones with clots are horrible and they just wipe me out for 2 weeks during and after.
I hope your symptoms improve too, keep me posted.
And, last thing, one of my friend has just told me that she was going through the same thing 2 years ago and after having tried all various NHS options, decided to visit a homeopath and also an acupuncturist. She's been with these two ever since and her periods are very light and last 2-3 days. I have decided that if that pill fails to settle it, I am going to see them too.
