Hi guys I'm 7 1/2 weeks post op and overall been doing really well but last week or so I have a heavy bulging feeling return and both front and back area look really swollen down there am worried about a relapse. I've been on holiday the last 2 weeks and been for nice walks along the beach and short gentle swims even had sex once - it was all over very quickly lol and didn't need lubrication and wasn't tight at all however I have felt awful since I returned a few days ago. My period will be due in about 5-7 days so don't know if it's that but just got a heavy swollen feeling . I also got really constipated yesterday and when I eventually went there was quite alot of blood loss from front and back passage but it subsided quickly and I took laxatives sachet. Today bm was a good bit softer but still a bit of blood from the front passage on wiping. In general feel a bit under the weather .

Hi, I would think it is the swelling but matron will answer your question, after sex the first time for me I was swollen and travelling in the car as well makes me swell if it's a long way

the stiches will also be coming away and that is very sore

Thanks Gillian for taking time to reply. Funny you should say that about the car as we went to France by car (I was a passenger as I don't drive) and the couple of days we did drive over there we only drove for 3-4 hours but on way home a couple of days ago it was almost a 9 hour drive but didn't feel uncomfortable at the time. Hopefully feel better next week as back to work and will just refrain from sex in the meantime lol.

Hi at 6 weeks I started driving again, just short trips. Last week I went a little further to place I like to walk, all on the flat. I was with my elderly parents so we didn't walk fast or too far (dads on a walker) we went 3 times in the week , but I got pay back at the weekend with swelling and discomfort, but it didn't last as long as before. I'm due for my check up the the consultant on Wednesday 6th July and will be glad to have some questions answered that will be 2 days short of 8 weeks. I feel I'm doing well. I'm definitely more comfortable than before the op so that's a bonus. I still have low days but again not as much as before.

Before the op I was hoping to be back at work (junior school) before the end of term, however I'm really not sure I could cope ,another question for Wednesday.

This forum has been invaluable for keeping me sane. Doctors are for medical advise but women who have been through or are going through the same experiences are of immeasurable help.

      Thank you.
