Heavy period?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I use cloth pads and mestrual cups exclusively and I have never bled through a pad or completely filled my cup before, especially on the first day of my period.

But today was the first day of my cycle and I bled through my pad and then through my underwear and onto my pants. So I put my cup in instead, but later had trouble removing it because it was so full that compressing it was very difficult to do. I put a pad on after that because of how much trouble I had removing it and have now (an hour later) leaked through the pad. I’m probably overreacting, but is this normal? I have PCOS, if that matters. It’s the heaviest I’ve ever had, as well.

PCOS can give you heavy periods, are you on any medications or the pill? Is there any way you could be pregnant?

I’m not on the pill or any meds. I’m a virgin so I’m not pregnant.

But my periods have never been this heavy... That’s really the only reason I was a bit concerned.

I also have PCOS and when I first got my periods they were very changeable. Is the pill you are on progesterone only or is it combined?

Sorry I misread your last message! Do you think you would be able to try tampons for those heavy days? Because tampons and pads together can stop you leaking.
