I've been taking fluoxetine for 12 days now and want to stop , I hateeeee the side effects ! Which have kind of let up a bit but I still feel not my normal self . would I have any withdrawal symptoms to worry about ? I'm only 20 and don't want to be on AD's the rest of my life I've learned to cope with my stress in the gym and it helps. Any advice would help ? I'll ask my doc Monday to be sure also.

Hi there, If I were you I would speak to your dr, but consider giving it more time. 12 days really isn't long...and although it can be really hard, if you can manage to stick with it, you might just start to feel better over the coming weeks, chat with your dr and see what they say. It can leave you feeling up and down and the side effects are definitely not easy but try and hang in there a little longer and in the meantime do whatever you can to help yourself feel better x

I tried not taking it at all yesterday and by night time it was horrible , I felt like I was going to die , my whole body was shaking , not to mention my sinus is also acting up so it felt like my head was going to blow up and I could barely walk and was nauseous. Not sure what was going on , withdrawal symptoms in assuming but I thought I would be okay being that I haven't took it for that long . so i HAD to take it and what I was feeling went away so idk what to do 😖 this is day 13 my next doc appt isn't until November 3rd I really don't want to wait that long to see what the doc says . Maybe I can call and get an earlier Appt I just really changed my mind about being on these pills I don't like the thought of having to take them the rest of my life I'm so young . I rather just work out .

From my experience it took longer than 12 days to kick in for me when I first started it. But definitely ask your doctor. I've been on it over 3 years and now coming off it and the side effects are not fun at all. The longer it is in your system the harder it is to leave your body. If you have found other ways to cope like exercise that is a great thing!
