Help!. 2 months after synchronous Eyhance IOLs for ?early cataracts and peripheral blurry vios

Hope someone can give me advice as my Opthamologist is clueless.

Was very hyperopic with left eye dominant and strabimus surgery in England at age of 8 years but well corrected. Left eye was +8.75 with astigmatism and left +6.75 with minor astigmatism. Told at private Eye clinic that was starting early cataracts although had no cloudy vision or halos etc. Had heard people doing well with IOLS after cataract surgery so dived in after promises of advancement in laser precision and fancy eye tests.

Took option of Eyhance IOLS and surgeon placed Toric II in right eye -Diopter+34 SE 1.5OD CYL, and Eyhance Tecnis -Diopter +31 SD in left eye. Both done at the same time.

Followed all directions of eye drops and was hoping to see excellent vision by now but while I can see without glasses my right eye vision is hazy all over and the right is clear in the middle but the lateral and lower vison is blurry and akin to opening your eyes underwater. Also I can "see " the edge of the lens or a rim in both eyes.

Checked 3 times by my optometrist and Ophthmologist and the former thinks PCO and the later says to early for that and otherwise has no clue why my vision is such. Refuses to consider Yag laser as to high risk at this stage.

Need help with experienced Eye surgeon /Ophthamologist in US or Canada( I am Canadian resident) for second opinion and management.

Thanks in advance

I am going from memory, so that is a little dangerous. Pretty much all IOLs have an optical diameter of 6 mm. However I think some IOLs have a reduced effective diameter less than 6 mm when the power of the lens is greater than 30 D. That might be the reason for you seeing the edge of the lens, especially if you are younger and have larger pupils. Again going from memory but I think the Alcon lenses maintain the full 6 mm when the power is above 30, whereas the J&J ones may not.

I don't think PCO can be ruled out based on time, but an ophthalmologist should be able to easily see it, if it is there.

Which city in Canada are you near?

@karbonbee may be able to help with a recommendation, as she has had recent surgery in Canada with good success, but for the opposite end of the spectrum, very high myopia.

I was diagnosed with PCO 2 1/2 weeks after surgery, so it is not too early for PCO. However, like Ron says, they should be able to clearly see it with a slit lamp.
