Help!!! 6 teeth removed!

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had 6 teeth removed (2 lower wisdom teeth 4 normal teeth ) 4 days ago.  The pain relief I was taking helped for 2 days but not it won’t even budge the pain, I’ve also been giving anti biotics to bring swelling down but the pain is getting worse ! I have had 6 hours sleep in 4 days.  Dentist says they can’t prescribe me anything stronger than paracetamol. Will A&e help me ? I know it’s bound to be agony but I really cannot handle another day or night of this. I found both my child births less painful than this. Please shed some light, thank you

Why did you have them out?  Have you tried Arnica tablets?

I had the wisdom teeth out as they were impacted. The other 4 were removed as I am getting braces applied and my mouth was to full. I am currently taking amoxicillin to bring down the swelling although today I look even more swollen.

    Hi Cat79244,

Sorry to hear about your situation.

    Have you phoned 111?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes I was in tears to 111 and they sent me to out of hours dentist that’s where I got the amoxicillin. I’ve now taken 6 anti biotics and the pain still seems to be getting worse. Everyone I’ve spoke to have said by this stage it should be better not worse. I thought it was possibly dry socket but out of hours dentist didn’t mention anything to do with that.

Sorry, I hadn’t quite finished my reply to you.

Would going to A&E be a good idea?

Doctors and Dentists tend to stick to their own specialities but if you go to A&E I would expect them to have a Dental specialist on call.

    Hope you’re better soon.

I had one tooth out and took some strong painkillers which I bought in a chemist . I think they were co codamol . Good luck and let us know how you get on won’t you.

    Take care

    Jane
