Hey guys! I haven’t been on this for a while but I thought I’d post because this page really really helped me when I first was diagnosed, wow it’s a been a year now since I’ve diagnosed with herpes type 2. May I say it’s been a rollercoaster but I’ve really learnt how to live with it. I’m currently having a breakout at the minute but I’ve been trying to breakouts the natural way without any tablets. So I’ve had a breakout for about 3 days so far and I’ve put the gel on which the doctor gave me, drank loads of orange juice and bathed in Epsom’s salts! And wow it’s really working, the first day I had a break out I literally couldn’t wee but now I can wee fine with no pain! The natural way is doing way better for me than the tablets! Might not be the same for everyone else but it’s really working! Just a tip if anyone wants to try and if anyone needs any advice don’t hesitate to ask!smile

Hi I’ve got so many questions for you being that my diagnosis was so recent I really don’t know as much as I would like to because no one really gives you a lot a information accurate information at that.. So I was diagnosed in March 2018 (culture test) and in January I had a blood test that came back negative so does that mean I had to be exposed after January? How long does it take for antibodies to show in your blood? I see you mentioned it was a rollercoaster which this has realllllly changed my life in so many ways I mean my emotions I can hardly ever control them 7 days out the week maybe 3 I feel okay just okay others I’m an emotional wreck calling my mom crying to her and it’s starting to stress her out because she already deals with so many health issues of her own.. I just want to know have you been feeling a bit better since your diagnosis? If so were there any coping skills you used to help I know things will get better but I’m just not certain I’ve been insecure ever since my 9th grade year of highschool this makes it 100x’s worse.. any advise or feedback you can give me will be greatly appreciated thank you 😘

Well I luckily had symptoms and I didn’t have a blood test they swabbed me! I did a hell of a lot of research on it. I feel like I’ve learnt to move on by learning that personally this was my learning lesson for not using protection, but obstacles always come round in life to try and knock you down. I started writing everything down how I felt and that made me feel better. I then made a very big decision to tell the guy who gave it me that he did and I think that definitely learnt me to learn to live with it as it took a big weight off my shoulders. I honestly can’t tell you what I did to make me better because I went really low to points where I did want to end it but something just switched in my brain. Trust me you will get through it and you will learn to live with it and you will have your good days and your bad days just exactly as I do now! I would personally ask for a swab but they can only do that because I had the symptoms which showed up exactly 2 weeks after the unprotected sex! But yeah I am happy, I’m in a great place and it’s part of me and actually when you do a lot of research it’s so surprising how many people actually have it who know and who don’t know! Don’t try and make yourself out to be any different to anyone else because your not at all, your still human! I hope this helps 😘

Wow 2 weeks? That seems like a long time! Most of what I have read it is within a couple days after. I've just been doing some looking into this to try to clarify a bit of a timeline! smile
