Hi Julia sorry to hear this. I'm on hrt patches been on nearly a year, had no side effects but these did help me with my dizziness, so not sure if they agree with you. See how you are in a day or so if no improvement see your dr. I carnt take hrt tablet form as like you they make me even worse. Hope this helps, Karen x

Is there a reason you are only on estrogen?

Do you know if you might be estrogen dominant?

I have BHRT with estrogen progesterone and testosterone. You need to have all three hormones balanced. I'm progesterone dominant so my body can't handle rises in estrogen. You may need to look further into all your hormone levels.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi

iv been on tiberlone for neatly 15 years, started on the a day after a total hysterectomy due to cysts on both ovaries and Endometriosis bad and haven't had any problems at all, however went to a Gp aptment on Friday and she said that I dont need estrogen and progesterone because I haven't a womb or ovaries . I just need oestrogen, low dose of Premarin 0.3mg and see how I get on with it, bit worried about the change tho because iv had a rough year health wise.

is it the first time you have taken any form of HRT??

Was you feeling anxious about taking it???

If so it could be anxiety you suffering from not the effects of HRT just a thought x

    Hi Julia,

It is frustrating, isn't it.  There are a few things that might help, like your age, and whether or not you still have ovaries.  And just curious, why did you wait so long to begin therapy after your hysterectomy?

No doubt, that it does take some time for the body to adjust to hormone therapy.  However, if you were completely depleated, that amount of estrogen can be a big slam to the system.  When you say you've "nearly been sick this weekend" I'm assuming that you are nauseated.  The feeling of nausea can definately be a symptom of estrogen excess.

As some responses have pointed out, this is about balance, and possibly your progesterone levels are very low.  While some women do well with estrogen only, other's do not, and it takes some progesterone to offset the estrogen and smooth things out.

Hi Julia, I was put on estrogen only @ first, now i'm on combined. I must say the only thing i suffered with @ first was headache's, it does sometime make the symptoms worse before better. If i was unsure thou i would go back see the Dr ? They do take a while to get into your system, i have read after a hysterectomy you need  estrogen only, hope this helps smile

Thanks everyone, you just hope all your symptoms will disappear as soon as you start and when it doesn't it's really hard to take, I'm hoping it's just going to take a few days or at most a couple of weeks, need to give it a good go. I'm only on estrogen because I had a hysterectomy and one ovary removed otherwise I'd be given the combined HRT, time will tell, I will persevere for a bit but two weeks I'm sure is plenty of time to judge. Thank you x

I Just sent two great articles to my friend about why it's best to be on progesterone with estrogen even when you don't have a uterus. Do some reasearch on that! But always natural progesterone!

I'm on my BHRT and get nauseous from time to time but I would get that before I started on the creams as well. I'm on my fifth week and still praying I'm going to wake up feeling normal again, unfortunately it must take longer, I'm out of patience!
