Help me!

Hey all, brand new poster here. I really need all your help and input. I am brand new to anxiety and depression, and to be honest i am scared out of my mind with how i have been feeling. I always feel down, am having uncomfortable and scary thoughts, and feel withdrawn from the world. I cant even relax at home. My mind is constantly on edge. Anyway, i just started taking 20 mg fluoxitene 2 days ago and feel like my anxiety and depression is getting worse. I know its early and i read all the struggles people are having even 6-8 weeks after starting. But i feel so terrible now, having to wait that long sounds impossible. How do you all get through this first period?

The main helpful thing is trying to stay busy any way you can.  I’m in 8 weeks, and just starting to feel better.  It takes a long time but you can do it.  We are all in the same boat here.

Hold on in there. I am at six and half weeks and just starting to feel a tiny bit better. The support on this forum has got me through some bad days. I didn’t discover them until a few weeks ago and wish I had earlier. The side effects seem worse than the illness sometimes but I really believe these tablets will work xx

    Hi TPAP,

I’m early days too (3 weeks).  So I dont have a lot of great advice yet - but I want to support you.

This group has been invaluable to me. I had anxiety and vertigo just hit one day - not a clue what it was, thought I was dying. Nope, it’s been rough, but I’m still here. Doc started me on Prozac 20MG and I felt better a few days after that. The side effects started the next week. I feel like they are starting to get better now... I have better days and then feel like I’m back at he beginning again. The crappy days are difficult, but don’t give up. I believe that we are going to come out on the other side of this.

I understand being scared, I still am. I’m too new to help much, but you are in the right place.  Nice people here.

Take care - and HANG in there. These folks tell me it is going to get better. I’ve gotten great advice and god support here.

HI. Stick with it.  It takes a few weeks to get into your system but it’s great I feel so much better sleep bit messed up but worth it.  Immmuch more relaxed and happy I’m a lot more content and my marriage is back on track.  You will be fine.   Polly xx
