It just depends I would say. I felt ok the first few days but terrible after week 2, very anxious and down. I would say stick with them though, they can take up to 8wks for effect, but I've been told that when they do work you will appreciate sticking with them. Are you having any counselling? That can really help. And have you people to talk to? I've found that been open about how I am has helped and people just want to help, they can't make me feel better but it helps having a good support network. Good luck x

    Hello jadey

Ive been taking fluoxetinne for 12 months or so at 40mg and I must say its worked wonders for my ocd and anxiety. It took around 8-10 weeks for positive effects and it was well worth it, the side effects can vary, it was hard work at first but I stook at it and I am glad I did.

Good luck and talk to others.

Hi jadey     well done for getting here and looking for support! I'm finding that owning that I am depressed and anxious and telling people actually makes a difference. They then know that I need help and can offer support - just like here.

I'm getting through my days by doing what is necessary and ignoring the rest, maybe picking one chore and trying to do it, maybe not.

I'm a week into Fluoxetine and starting to get several side effects, the worst being poor sleep. BUt everyone says stick to it and it works eventually so I'm going on their experience and trusting it will get better.

I hope you feel a whole bunch better soon. Good luck!

There's a link to  Fluoxteine just under these posts - I found it very helpful in terms of "side effects" and what too expect or look out for.
