Hello I just got GH I've had my first outbreak for 4 days now and it just keeps getting worse.... I got tested Monday and my results aren't back but they started treating me yesterday because we're pretty sure that's what it is. The pain is unbearable I can't even pick my son up because of my stomach pain the blisters are horrible and none have poped yet it hurts so bad to urinate I'm at a loss for what to do they just gave me valacyclocir for it and have been extremely rude to me someone had mentioned tea tree oil where can I get some? My symptoms have included a high fever, body aches everywhere! Extreme stomach pain, blisters, headaches and extreme neck pain.... where should I go from here?

I hope they took a swab test to confirm their visual diagnosis and type the HSV infection. If not, go back now and insist on a type-specific swab. I've seen far too many people on here who missed that golden opportunity to properly confirm their outbreak. The blood tests for herpes are less ideal.

Neck and stomach pain aren't so common, so I'm not sure what to suggest there. As for the rest, take the meds as indicated, ibuprofen or acetaminophen for general pain relief, and/or topical lidocaine for local pain relief. Drink lots of water to dilute your pee, pour water down below while peeing, and consider soaking the area in a Epsom salt sitz bath. Zinc oxide cream can help. If you do use tea tree oil, make sure you dilute it, otherwise it could potentially burn on open sores.

Things should greatly improve after a week or so, by the way. The first week is the worst, so get through this and you'll be on the mend. Recurrences are fortunately waaay milder, should you even get any.

I have so many questions for you..... You have been such a huge part of my diagnosis! Please tel me what's the difference in a IGG test and a IGM? I tested positive for IGG but a year later negative for IGM

They are two different types of antibodies in your body. IgG antibodies are stable and once produced they persist for life. IgM antibodies are transient - in the case of herpes, they come and go with recurrences, maybe also asymptomatic flareups, not just the first outbreak. As for the tests, both are not perfect, but the IgM test for herpes is even more heavily flawed and prone to false results, so it is never recommended by those in the know, including the CDC. Unfortunately many doctors don't know this, because IgM testing is okay for other conditions (all infections produce IgM and IgG antibodies, fyi).

They took urine tests blood tests and cultures... I should get results back tomorrow. Should I request from my doctor the lidocaine ? Is there anything else I can request from them to make this easier? In a few places I read that people take a daily medication to avoid outbreaks what is that? And last question I have an extremely bad immune system and my whole life I've never been able to deal with stress well and I've read alot that those are two major factors in outbreaks.... are there certain vitamins I can get or anything specific I can do

Lidocaine should be available over the counter. You are already on the meds for your outbreak. Anything further I'd wait till you know exactly what you have and see how it goes. You may not need daily medication. It all depends. Stress doesn't impact genital herpes as much as people say and the best thing to do vitamin, supplement and diet wise is to maybe take a multivitamin, extra vitamin C, and eat a healthy balanced diet. Staying healthy overall is the best strategy. Some people swear by lysine supplements and will advise a high lysine/low arginine diet, but none of that is clinically proven or necessary.
