Hi Brenda. I'm sorry your feeling this way, I know how awful it is. I'm not an expert and have only been on fluoxetine for a short while but I know I have experienced similar to what you are saying. I also tried strained but it was awful. People keep telling me to hold on, the side affects are normal and it will get better so that's what I cling to- all I can do is pass on these same words of encouragement. If you ever need to chat, keep posting thus group gas saved my life xxxx

Hi Brenda... hope your having a good day.. still to early for you to see a full improvement sorry to say this, could take up to 10/12 weeks and for some people longer, for it to settle down more.

You will have up and down days at this moment in time, Prozac is so slow to work,

I’m on 60mg and been on Prozac now for 8+ months and feel great all side effects have gone away, the first 3months were hell on Earth with this med, so try to bear with each day as it comes, don’t give up to early, as we all feel like quitting, but it is a good med once your body adjust to it, I have no deppression now, and I can smile again... your doing really well so keep going and talking on here as we are all here to listen, as we know what it’s like .. best of luck, hope all works out for you 🤗x

Hi Brenda, everything Dawn said is spot on. We have supported each other through our healing process and I can say the people on here were a big part of my healing. This is also my second time on Prozac. I took it for 25 years before I had a drug interaction and it stopped working for me. I had no side effects the first time I took it but when I started again I had every one of them. It can be exhausting, frightening and discouraging when you are dealing with this illness and praying for results. I was week 12 before I started to feel a difference but it did happen. Hold on hon and don't give up. You will get there.

      Big hugs ????

Hi Dawn, glad to hear you are doing well. I hope you had a good holiday season. I think I'm going to increase to 60mg when I see my pdoctor next week. Just need a little more push to get things right. But we know the drill, slow and steady. It will come.

      Take care. ????

You live in the UK?  Many people have had the chest pain and it settled for them. I know some of them had an ecg to make sure they were ok. I tried to think of it for me that this time I was recovering was just a drop in the bucket of my life. I would get through this and enjoy my life so much more. I know many doctors don't like to use benzos but I don't know why they created them then. I have clonazepam that I take only if I'm having a really difficult day. I used to take 2 mg a day in the beginning but was easy for me to wean myself off. I drank chamomile tea which helped to calm me and ginger tea to ease my stomach.

Know that you are not alone. There are so many of us that have gone through what you are and have healed.

      Im here to help.

      Take care

Ugh! Menopause. 🙄😡. I'm ready for that to end. I'm doing ok but know I can do better. I had a relapse during Christmas and am still struggling a bit. I was on 60mg before and have heard that often people need to go back to their previous dose.

I had the flu/ cold for a month before I finally got rid of it. It's terrible this year. They say the flu shot is not effective with this strain. I won't take any cold meds as I'm too afraid of an interaction.

Im glad to see you on here giving back. Everyone here made such a difference in my healing. I feel blessed to have found you all.

I'll keep in touch and you too lady. I'm so happy for you that life is going well a you deserve it.

      Big hugs. ????

When I was on Prozac for 25 years I upped to 60 mg. We decided to stop at 40mg as I am also taking lamotrigine. But I still believe I need to go a bit higher. We'll see what he says next Wednesday.

Darn menopause, at least in the frigid cold weather we've been having I could sometimes appreciate them. Of course I haven't had any for a few weeks. 🙄  They will probably start again when the weather gets warm. Ugh!

You take care too my friend. ????

    Hi Brenda,

I was on my 6th week of Sertraline when I switched to Prozac.  I think I’m in week 5 now.  I had terrible anxiety in the Sertraline, I couldn’t sit down.  This was better at first, but then the side effects started coming.  I increased from 20 to 40 within that time too.  Dr days says side effects will go away eventually.  It’s a roller coaster, some days I think I’m ok, and then the next day is bad, or I have a part of a good day, and then bad.  Everyone says that is normal, and it settles around 12 weeks.  It’s so hard, I know.

Hi Stacey at first coming off sertraline and changing to prozac I felt good but this last few days the anxiety is back nausea aches pains crying I just can't see an end health anxiety through the roof always feels like something else is going on

I felt good at first too, then the anxiety came back.  It is awful.  I have a couple different medicines to take for it, but I don’t want to take it because Dr wants me to try to ride out the anxiety.  Antidepressants seem to give me panic attacks as a side effect.  The Dr says you have to go through that to lift the depression. I feel like I’ve been dealing with it forever, and want it to go away.
