Hi im hoping to get some advice please, ive been on Zopiclone for over 8 years now starting dose was 7.5 they have always worked perfectly for me as i would sometimes only take half and only a whole tablet if i did need it, my doctor cut me down to the 3.5 several months ago and yet again they worked fine but did double up on occasion that i had a bad night, now how ever he has stopped my Zopiclone completely and has given me Phenagan 25mg i take two a night and they dont do anything for me they make me relax but dont help me get to sleep at all, ive been on phenergan for a week now and ive had about 10 hours sleep in the last week, i went back to doctor today to explain how little ive slept and asked if i could go back on the zopiclone as there is nothing worse than sleep deprivation, i dont seem to have any other with drawl symptoms except lack of sleep which makes me tearful, he gave me 5 x 7.5 tablets to take when i need them..i have tried most other prescribed sleeping tabs and over the counter stuff over the years including Valerian and melatonin but nothing has ever worked as well as zopiclone, and i am now at a bit of a loss with what to do , i cant go on with just 10 hours sleep in a week it will drive me bat s**t crazy....what can i do what other things can i say to the doc to help me get back into some kind of sleep pattern.....oh i best point out that i am currently going through the menopause and i have fibromyalgia i take 2 x Tramadol 2 times a day and 2x cocodomol 2 x a day and take 50mg of Amitryptaline every evening im also diabetic and inject insulin twice a day im also on sertraline for depressionand take 100mg in morning and 100 mg in afternoon have been on sertraline for 7 years ,, i also take lisinopril and simavastatin and foxiga for diabetes and lansoprazole for acid re flux oh and every other day i take about 5 different laxatives as i have slow bowel transition... so yep im a bit of a mess I JUST WANT TO SLEEP

    Hello there,

?You poor thing, so sorry you are suffering with sleep depravation. Quite a cocktail of drugs you are taking......

Do you have faith in your GP?

?In my experience I have had repeated prescriptions of diazepam for 22 years and I am weaning myself off now under the supervision and guidance of an addiction specialist. this is my second attempt at getting off these.

My suggestion would be go back to your GP and tell him your life is intolerable and perhaps he might refer you for help.

?These powerful drugs should be stopped SLOWLY..............help is out there. I am not a specialist so can give only the advice of what I would do in your situation.

?Hope someone with specific knowledge jumps in to this discussion and is of more help. Bless you...Don't despair I am sure with the right help you can sort thissmile

I am sorry but not surprised to hear this.

Basically you need to have a complete review of the drugs you are taking because most of them are depriving your body of nutrients and possibly causing fibro.  Take care.

I agree, these drugs have interactions and affect the body adversely.

I was diagnosed with ME some years ago, having no energy at all. very little help out there for that, many years wasted.

Have now taken back control as I am slowly reducing my diazepam under the care of experts who actually listen to me.

ME and fibro are closely related so maybe that is the cause. Since reducing my energy level is gradually increasing......just a suggestion

hi mumswumsy I have just PM'd you. You need to google all the drugs you are taking to find out how they may be responsible for most of your signs and symptoms. Then discuss with your dr. PPIs cause nutritional problems and are only supposed to be prescribed for a few weeks.  Take care

Ask your doc about hydroxyzine 25. It helps me sleep a LOT during my slow w/d from Valium and ok’d by my doc, a psycho-pharmacologist, an addiction specialist.

    Hello.

I really empathize with all the struggles you have , and you definitely shouldn't have had your Zopiclone taken away from you.

I don't know if it's the same doctor that prescribes all your other meds who stopped the Zopiclone and have you phenagan.

However , if your local g.p won't give them to you, you can go and see a psychiatrist who will definitely prescribe you them, especially when you explain all your ailments. I really wish you the best of luck going forward.
