Hi guys & gals
Well it is a while since I posted a link to My Inner World and after reading some posts here I thought it may be of benefit to some of you.
Firstly though I'd like to mention how to help with those anxiety attacks....
I think it was Margaret that told me this originally and as obvious as it sounds, it is something we all forget to do when having an anxiety/panic attack.
To get full benefit of this, I'd recommend practising this technique during times when you aren't feeling anxious.
Basically it is down to the breathing. Close the mouth as though you are going to blow a candle out. Take a slow deep breath in filling your lungs with as much air as possible then slowly release it again through the mouth. Do at least 10 of these or during an attack, until your anxiety/panic attack has subsided.
Sounds easy doesn't it - but during an anxiety/panic attack it is extremely difficult to do this. We breathe shallower and faster during an attack. This gives us the symptoms of dizziness, pins and needles, rapid heart beat etc. Basically we are hyper-ventilating  Now hyper ventilating isn't going to do any of us any real, long term harm, but it does make the anxiety/panic attacks worse.
Okay, I hope the above helps.
Here is the link to a brilliant web site that has helped myself and others on PUKE.

Thank you for your lovely comment
If it seems like I know what 'm talking about it is only because I have hands on experience
Hey! I have extremely high qualifications in depression and anxiety  :weird:
I hope the breathing works for you, it did for me, once I remembered to use that technique during an attack - that is quite difficult to do.
Margaret (a past poster here) told me how to do it.

Well i havent posted on here for a while, just want to say/re iterate what mlh said, some of yours and stilmans posts are and have been so helpful to me and others in the past, just a quick post by me, my life/moods is the rollercoaster of moods, good and bad that it always is, teetering on the edge, i guess its the way my life will always be now, downers dont last too long thankfully, one thing i do find alot now is that i have that butterflies in tummy feeling and i feel myself staring into the abyss alot ? Anyway, I hope u are all keeping well and life is treating u well.

well i am just posting to tell u that for the 1st time in probably years i feel content and happy. After years of everything going wrong that could something has finally gone my way. I have to admit its a scary feeling and i do have the tendancy to think this feeling wont last, i will fall again and end up like i nornally do. I havent even had the urge to drink, i will drink again of course, but ive been going to bed content and waking up feeling so refreshed, looking forward to life. I just wanted to share my joy with u 2 who have been such friends over the last year or so, i never thought i could feel like this again, im not hyper, im just happy and content. Its funny how one good thing can trigger so many positive thoughts, my whole outlook on my situation has changed, its still not what i want but i appreciate what my parents have done/doing for me, i am also getting along with my mum alot better, even my daughter picked up it, did upset me a little , thinking of what i was like sometimes and what she saw when i have been so down, anyway, a sincere thank you to both, i will continue to post on what is a great forum, take care my friends, i genuinely hope you 2 are well, i really do.

Just fantastic mate, I was so happy to read your post. It brought the sunshine into my day. :rainbow:
Like Melbi, I really, sincerely, hope that the good feelings last and build for you. Enjoy them to the full and use them as your armour so if the demon shows its ugly face again you can tell it where to go!!
I am delighted for you my friend. For you and for your children who have a great father.
Look after yourself and let us know how you are doing.
Best regards as always.
