I am two weeks post surgery and I have a lump where the surgery site was and the stitches. This was external hemorrhoid surgery. I would like to know if this is common and how long does it take to go away? ?

Yeah Thank you for replying. I didn't even know i had internal hemorrhoid until my colorectal surgeon did a scope. I had pph surgery and external hemorrhoid surgery along with skin tag from a flair up removed. But the swelling was crazy it's alot better now but I have one sensitive spot that seems to flare up after I have a bm. I go in Tom for my check up at 16 days so it's still early for me. Can you tell me how long since you had your procedure and have you recovered?

Maria can you tell me did you ever get your skin tags removed. I seen my surgeon at 2.5 weeks he said I have developed skin tags from the surgery which is pretty common. Did it hurt if you did get them removed or if you live with them now do they affect you?

They removed first lot when I had the second op but since second op I've not been back to have them removed sometimes not very often they do get a little bit sore if I strain which I no I shouldn't I was told I would have to be put to sleep to have them removed which I don't want x x

Yeah my surgeon suggested if they don't go down in the next month once I'm fully healed then he can easily remove them in the office. How long did it take after surgery for your swelling to go down? Thank you for replying I appreciate it. I'm almost 3 weeks and I'm better I'm at the itchy stage but I cannot get over the swelling that is left reading a lot about the surgery it is pretty common to have tags after.

Full recovery is 3 months but my soreness got better after 6-8 weeks but didn't need pain killers much after 3 to 4 weeks x x

Yeah I figure I still got a lot of healing to go. I feel I'm doing well but I have nobody to compare myself to its a lonely recovery to say the least. I'm just worried about the flesh on the outside but I'm sure it will go down even more. Are you now happy you had it done. Did you have a closed hemorroidectomy??

Don't understand what closed means but I had 2 ops 2 removed each time stitched ect I had the full op both times x

Yeah I had the stitched as well that's a closed hemorroidectomy. You may have not had the swelling I had on the outside because I had external ones. Did you see a lot of swelling 3 weeks after surgery or were you completely healed by then.
