Hemorrhoidectomy Bowel movements

okay so I previously posted in the past regarding this topic but here is some history on me..

back on July 11th I had hemorrhoidectomy surgery they had removed three hemorrhoids grade 4 from my rectum on post op day 8 I had to go to emergency department to have a first bowel movement with the assistance of staff is Day a half later had my first bowel movement at home which way is huge ( lol ) then I forgot today was my second bowel movement at home is very tiny but I am now suffering and pain my rectum feels like it's going to push out on bowling ball I'm guessing because of all the swelling inside of my rectum I have used ice pack and took a quick bath right after my bowel movement

I feel like I still have to go to the bathroom and feel worse than I did after surgery I am not someone who enjoys taking medication Hydro morphine or anything like that for pain very uncomfortable feeling and I really thought that after surgery going a few times to the toilet bowel movements would be easier but it seems like the pain is getting worse as each bowel movement comes. my days seem to be a hit and miss yesterday and I felt all right a little groggy should I just feel awful never one day is alike.

I have always had bowel movements far and few between as I have other health issues that are on going that I will be finding out ON Thursday as I had a CT entrogram done 2 days before my surgery.

my questions are...

do you feel like your rectum is pulsating do you feel a lot of pressure down there to feel about there is a lot of swelling going on down there does it hurt just as much as it did at the beginning are you finding it easier to go to the bathroom a few times or is the pain staying the same pain getting worse is there still bleeding ?

(I have inner stitches still the outter ones came off from what I can see)

Ok , so I'll try to answer this question with regards to my situation which was a Banding. None the less , any procedures on the rear are not created equally 😂. You will have swelling, much more than a banding. Along with bleeding. Swelling is unfortunately a part of the healing process, with both procedures. Yes it feels like your trying to push a bowling ball out ..it sucks. Be sure to drink tons of water, along with 2-3 stool softeners. I usually take one in the am then another 2 or 3 around 5/6pm. I also take metamucil...2ce a day. I found that if I drink the metamucil in the morning I usually have to go to the bathroom within a half an hour, if I don't drink the metamucil in the morning I end up having a harder than normal stool in the mid-afternoon, which is not what you want! Its a fine line, you have to go but you get backed up.

and and the catch-22 is, when you don't go to the bathroom it feels like you're recovering quicker but then you end up paying the price later on if you become a little bit constipated... if that makes sense

      does makes sense,

I have never gone to the bathroom everyday or every other day. I have a G.I doctor right now to determine the cause of this as I went for an MRI of my stomach 2 days before my sugury and will find out this Thursday that outcome.

Metamucle gives me real bad GERD aka acid reflux. and I have bern faithful taking my stool softener x2 various kinds.

      including liquid softener.

here is a fine example how hard it is for me to go to the washroom.

after my surgury I taken 8 senekots within 3 days with Metamucle everyday and nothing occured

it's been a rough road but I like hearing the support from this website.thank you for your help

I wish you the best,as i can only imagine how rough it is with healing after a removal surgery. I know tons of water is necessary and also i just was made aware of the fact stool softener "can take 12-72" hours before there effects take place. Which is why i now take one in the am then afternoon and before bed.
