Herpes and depressed

Hi so I've had the virus now 8 years. The last three have been the worst of my life. Outbreaks every 2 weeks horrendous during my period. I was buying my treatment online as it's impossible to get an appointment with my doctor so it's just easier to buy online. Anyway does anyone know why I get it so bad and why it's the past 3 yrs and not 8. I did get to see my doc after waiting 6 weeks. He gave me a course of meds for three weeks and said it would stop it coming back I told him I will always have it it was so random. So I took the med obviously as soon as my course finished I was back at square one. I feel so low and helpless I don't know what to do. I've never been depressed but I actually think I am this time around. I called up the doctor and asked for an emergency appointment but the next one is 4 weeks! I spoke to him and asked for a ongoing suppressive treatment that I've read up about and he said he can't offer me that? Is this only available in the USA and not uk. I just feel so lost and have no-one to talk to about it ... Hope someone could offer some advice and what I could do to try and prevent the outbreaks it would be so much appreciated xx

If you're getting confirmed outbreaks that often, your doctor should prescribe daily suppressive therapy. Print out official recommendations from legitimate sites (like the CDC, even though it's US) to argue your point, if need be. Consider going private. Are you going through peri/menopause at the moment? That can cause some women to experience flare-ups, just like how periods can be a trigger for some women.
