well i want you to know that if these results come back negative you can stop worrying. you have something else going on if it comes back beg. 6onths is when testing is fully accurate

I hope so too. But im sure youre fine! Very rarely do herpes antibodies not show up sooner than 3 months so im almost certain you dont have oral herpes if you havent tested postive by now but one more test will let you know for sure. There a thousands of harmless skin conditions that you and I have never even heard of! I discover something new every day! So dont panic love. You'll be okay ❤️

I've had HSV1 for FOUR YEARS and only last month did it show up on a test. I thought I had HSV2 for the longest time because the person I contracted it from did. But how I ended up with HSV1? I'll never know, maybe it is still HSV2 but its not registering. Anyway, I take suppressive medication and it does work to reduce the symptoms but not prevent 😦 I get an minor outbreak every month still and its depressing at times when I think about trying to be with someone else. What do I say? Sorry I can't kiss you for a week every month? My lips looked EXACTLY like yours. Anyways, I wonder if the supressive medication not working to suppress has something to do with the HSV2 test being negative even though I had exposure. Have you tried medication? Did it work for you?

Also, at some point my doctor just prescribed me the medication even though it was coming back negative every time. It really helped. My culture was negative, I took two blood tests that were negative, and I still had it. 4 years later finally it shows on a test.

wow 4 years is a long time. did you test every year or just twice. hsv1 is something like 70% accurate on igG and 95 for hsv2. did u ever do the western blot

If it took 4 years for hsv1 to show how can you be certian you're clear for hsv2 then.

i just did a culture and blood tests. i didnt grow up with cold sores and no one in my family had hsv 1. the strange thing is i had my first outbreak after coming i contact with someone who had hsv2 and he was my only partner that year so i had to catch it from him....but it came back as hsv1....so confusing. i guess i cant be sure and at times i do think it is hsv2.

no after 4 years it woukd of definetly showed up. at the latest at 6 months. hsv2 doesn't like the oral area and doesn't shed as much. If he had hsv2 he may if had type 1 as well. You may of got the oral infection and lucked out on type 2. I was exposed to type 2. I'm testing negative at 1 year post exposure I've even did the western blot and it was negative. Have you thought of doing the western blot

hmm no never tried the western blot, i'll have to do that. how has your dating life been post exposure? did you have bad outbreaks initially?

No I had something maybe fungal going on. I never had the classic outbreaks at all. I tested negative for hsv2 1 year post. now when I got hsv1 I did have alot of outbreaks first year or 2. like every other month. now I get none. my fiance has type 1as well

but i dont know ill just wait on my results if i have hsv1 my life is over.

well trust the tests. you couldnt have possibly gotten type 1 from your partner if you knoe for sure he has type 2. also not possible to hsve herpes for 4 years with only a recent positive.

my point exactly also for Sarah's sanity I'd test and put it behind you because 6 months is long enough for antibodies to show. Keep in mind 80% of the population has type 1, your life won't be over.

that's what I said too. I've had it for decades and it never presents like what you have going on. my sister gets similar looking pimples when she eats spicey foods. It's definetly some kind of allergic reaction. I put money on it.

He could have had both 1 and 2 but only mentioned 2 to me, thats my guess as I know I got it from him. I also know that I've had it for 4 years as I've accidentally passed it to someone thinking I was negative.
