Herpes, or maybe not?

So for tha last 5 days or so, my vagina has been very uncomfortable. It stings (not burns) when i pee, as if there is a cut there. Also, right in the opening of the inside of my vagina has been slightly painful and irritated enough to not use a tampon. I figured maybe i was real itchy or something down there and was scratching through my panties a lot or something. So as im experiencing that, i have been dizzy, lightheaded, slight fever, cold sweats at night, and over all just not well at all. I told my mom these symptons as well as what's goin on in my vagina, and she told me that tjose are signs or herpes. So I had my boyfriend take a look, and we spotted several tiny red bumps. Naturally, freaking out takes me to the urgent care. I told her of my symptoms and turns out i have an extremely bad uti. I also had her check the small bumps (theyre on my labia). She said they could possibly be herpes but im currently waiting on results from the blood test. Also i just noticed l my clit hurting within the last few hours. They dont look like blisters, i cant feel them only see them. No white. Just freaked ouuuut.

That soreness just at the opening of the vagina was a symptom for me, along with a small lesion that was like a paper cut, then after a few days I got two tiny little spots. Did the nurse take a swab too?

Oh man. Could that have anything to do with sores being inside the vagina? Even with a hand mirror its hard for me to see myself. She didnt swab me, she hardly even looked around just asked me where it was, i showed her n that was pretty much it. So she only did a blood test. I now have something on my anus which appears to be like a hemorrhoid, but with all these othwr things going on im not goin to bet on it... Its pea sized and slightly hard but still slightly squishy. Itches, bothers me to sit down, cant make a BM. very uncomfortable..

I never actually found out if I had sores inside or just the one outside but it hurt me to pee and I had that soreness at vagina entry, it felt like as I'd imagine it starting to tear in labour or something. Like FelisCatus said you have GOT to try get swabbed ASAP. If that's a new infection your bloods could come back negative and you'll never know if it really is herpes, swab is the most important thing and you need to get it done while the bumps are fresh.

I know, the only place i can think to go to is the ER. Urgent care obviously sucks because theyre the ones who checked me out and didnt swab. Planned parenthood doesnt have any appointments until next week and im wondering if they will be gone by then. I mean i definitely want them to be gone by then but i want ro make sure that it is or isnt herpes.

I suggest taking a cyst bath to reduce irritation. It is probably herpes, but without a culture swab youll never know. Herpes is not a routine checkup and might not show up on blood test. Also during my first outbreak, the first bump i ever got was on my libia.

I am experiencing the same symptoms as you just no visible sores ...i feel like someone is pushing on my clitoris and it makes hard to urinate despite how full my bladder is ...my symptoms have been for 2 wks now and its horrible

Are yoy sure you dont have a UTI? The pain in my clitoris just started late yesterday, but id say all of these other symptoms started in the beginning of the week for me.

I got swabbed and it came back + .... my husband has always had bad cold sores so we've been cautious over the yrs but back in oct i had a herpetic shingles outbreak on my breast so its possible that this is a rare case of hsv1 that is affecting my nerves from the waiste down. . Also im not sure if anyone else has ever had this happen but I have trouble trying to urinate as well as having a bowel movement it's almost as if I can never fully relieve myself i am going on my 3rd week of pain and discomfort

Hope they swabbed you as well, otherwise go back and get swabbed. An IgG blood test is not useful if it's a new infection and is only good for baseline purposes, not diagnosis in this instance. If the test is for IgM antibodies, then it's not useful at all.

Im not totally sure what type of test it is... I just know i wont have results until monday.. She didnt swab me, she hardly even poked around down there

Go back and get swabbed asap. Better yet, go somewhere else and get swabbed asap, because your doctor doesn't sound very competent if she failed to look much or do a swab.

So where should i go, the ER? Dr doesnt have any appts until late next week. What if theyre gone bu then? Also, Ive been faithful for over 3 years and my boyfriend is definitely a cheater. But he has no symptoms? He would have been the one to contract it first. Unless i contracted this like 3.5 years ago, never shown any symptoms until now.

If you want to confirm or rule out herpes, you need to get the bumps swab tested while they are still fairly new. A week will be too late. I don't know about going to ER, as I only ever go private and it's easy to get appointments. Many different clinics and doctors available where I am, so it's not an issue. Surely you can just go to a different clinic? You don't need a specialist. Any GP will do. They just need to swab you and request the test for herpes.

You can go to an urgent care facility such as patient 1st

Yea urgent care called to follow up with me and told me to come back in if needed so ill definitely be going back today.

Well i went back to urgent care yesterday. She told me they didnt have authorization or some bs to do a culture there. So she looked at it, and the infection did in fact spread or multiply. She said shes pretty sure they are herpes. She went ahead and prescribed me valtrex and told me to put some feminine relief cortisone on it. It made my vagina feel like it was on fire. Although i dont feel like they look like blisters, just red sores. What are the cycle of herpes? Also I know i contracted ot from my babys father but hes had no symptoms. How is this? This is the first time ive had a period in months due to being on the. Depo shot. Is it possible my period brought on the first outbreak? Of so, is thos going to happen everytime i start my period?

That's ridiculous they can't or won't test! So glad I live where I do in that respect, as i never have a problem getting tested (for whatever) when I want to. Perhaps you still have time to visit a walk-in clinic or something. It's important to verify that it's herpes, and if so, the HSV type.

Cortisone is bad for active sores and could make it worse, unless the cream also contains acyclovir. Use topical lidocaine for pain relief instead.

Herpes lesions don't have to blister (only happens on regular skin, not mucosal skin) and can turn up as sores that eventually heal in up to two weeks or so (first outbreak). You won't get scabbing if it's on mucosal skin. Herpes carriers without recognizable symptoms are common, so that could be like your partner. Outbreaks can be related to periods, but not always.

I have an appointment at Planned Parenthood on Tuesday and the sores are definitely goin to still be there. Its so excruciating that I think about going tobthe hospital when i go pee and even after. I have a bump on the underside of my clit, still kinda the labia and it hurts to wipe. Its lile my body knows how bad it hurts and wont allow me to go pee, but i have a severe UTI so I have to keep going pee. If a hospital asked me my pain from 1-10, its definitely a 12. Its worse than child birth. I just pray that I am one of the lucky people that rarely gets outbreaks. I really appreciate all of your replies.

Were you confirmed to have bacteria as the cause of your UTI? Because burning urination (not so much increased frequency) is also a symptom of herpes caused by lesions inside your urethra. Either way, increase your fluid intake. You may not like the idea of having to pee more often, but believe me, it hurts far less with diluted urine, whether the cause is bacteria or herpes!

The first outbreak can be awful, but you will get over it (2-3 weeks, but much improved after the first week) and it won't be nearly as bad again. If you and your bf are young, this is probably Type 1, which is way better to have (recurs far less, not very infectious genitally). Hang in there, and drink more!

Yes I have bacteria due to the uti. Its not a burning when i pee, its a stinging due to the sores on my labia surrounding the hole where i pee. I have definitely been going through water botttles lile crazy. Theres also a clear discharge coating my labia area, very moist. The dr checked for BV but thats not it. Is that a fluid from the herpes? and my urine is extremely yellow due to my uti and the medication im taking probably doesnt help.

If you have a bad UTI, it should burn to pee regardless of external lesions (the burning is from inside), and if you are drinking lots of water, your urine should not be really yellow, meds or not. You need to drink enough water until it becomes pale, then keep it that way. Were you given antibiotics for the UTI? Clear, watery discharge can be herpes-related.

Im a pepsi addict lol and i havent been drinking pepsi, just a load of water. My pee is better because they prescribed me 2 medications for the uti, i probably couldnt notice it burned because the stinging from the pee was so excruciating it took away from everything. It doesnt sting so bad to the point of crying as of today, but I do know have dome bumps on my inner thigh where my panties are. Those sting real bad. I need to get soke cream. I havent gotten rhe Valtrex yet because the pharmacy was closed today. Im miserable. And it feels like theres an immense pressure that makrs me feel like my vagina is goin ti collapse. So sore

Why are you in a relationship with a cheater. Boys don't care about anyone but themselves. Your bf MOST LIKELY has herpes. If he hasnt had any noticeable outbreaks that he has told you about, then he can be a asyptomatic trait carrier. But the risk are higher for contraction from men2women than from women2man

When i got dignosed it was similar. My cervix was creating a lot of fluid to fight the virus

Im at the point where Im not even trying to figure out if its anything else. Ive come to accept the fact that its herpes. I now have it on my inner thigh, like my panty line. It sucks. My insurance isnt covering the valtrex so im waiting for the dr to switch the medication or whatever she needs to do. I have an appointment at planner parenthood for them to do a swab today.

Okay, I understand you must be in a lot of pain. I reccommend tea tree oil and olive oil moxture and apply to irritared areas
    • Posted

Thats awesome because i actuallu have teatree oil because im also in tha process of getting rid of scabies. I also have an external hemorrhoid that makes it unbearable to go to the bathroom, thank god the peeing pain has stopped, my body is still hesitant about letting me go pee because the pain was so excrutiating before. Do you have small children? Im so scared of maybe accidentally scratching down there and then touching my 8 month old without washing my hands. Im constantly washing my hands.

No I don't have children. But I know that babies also can get heroes but more easily. Please was your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer, and gloves. Take special precautions when touching face and changing diapers. And remember to always clean up after yourself after treatment or contact with sores.
