HERPES OR SOMETHING ELSE!?

so i have had sex about a week and a half ago unprotected because he has told me that he never did go raw with anyone before and i trusted him (dumb move i know). and while we were having sex, i went dry and it was painful, felt like my labia was getting ripped... i then noticed an irritation on the lips of my vagina and it became very itchy. but then a few days ago i started having a burning sensation and constant irritation/itching. i then started having a thick, white, odorless discharge and then these sores started forming a couple days later. since im visiting vegas, i did not have an obgyn and decided to do a video call with a doctor online and she told me that it could be yeast infection and the sores couldve appeared since i didnt start treating it right away she also told me to go to an urgent care to get tested for herpes asap, so i am going tomorrow... but im so worried because if its herpes my life is over.image

you look a little swollen too... i would think it would be friction if it were around the opening of your vagina not on the outside too.... the discharge though could very well be a yeast infection... please keep us updated on your appointment tomorrow!... either way your life is not over. my sister has genital herpes and she met her husband after diagnosis and is married with a baby... you will still have a life either way! -hugs-

I'm not sure what your results were at your appointment, but i just wanted to say that herpes is an extremely common infection, more common than people realize (& most people don't show symptoms of it even though they have it), and there's way too much social stigma surrounding it but you will be okay! It doesn't define you, its simply a skin condition. I pray you start feeling better inside and out, sending a lot of love your way!

update: still waiting for results but the doctor told me that although it may look like herpes, it could also be caused by something else. i did tell her about my not being wet during intercourse and she said the sores on my labia could be from the friction which then got infected by bacteria. she was sceptical about the sores on the outside of the labia and explained that thats what is leading her to believe it could be herpes. she also told me that the sores can be caused by untreated chlamydia since she asked if i was ever positive for an std/sti.
