Herpes outbreak has lasted 5wks and going strong. I’m beyond depressed! Help

Hey guys I was diagnosed 2 yrs ago with HSV1. I usually get a cold sore on my lip but never anything too crazy. I'm guessing recently spread it to my genitals because that's where the outbreak is this time around. I ate chocolate Valentines Day which is sometimes a trigger and I've been suffering since. I'm also 8 weeks pregnant which can also be the cause I hear. I've tired so many things but nothing has helped. I can barely walk it hurts so bad. I'm so depressed and feel hopeless. Never knew pain like this exists. I don't know what I'm here looking for. Maybe encouragement or stories like mine. I feel this will never clear up and that scares me. I cant even be excited about this pregnancy I'm in so much pain. Any encouraging words or advice would help ): Thank you

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. I've had very painful BV for 3+ months so I can't even imagine your pain. Are you on antivirals? If so, maybe you should talk to your OBGYN about switching meds. I wish you the best of luck.

Thank you @Tass83169 I hope yours clears up too. I was prescribed a 3 day dose of antivirals. Did absolutely nothing. I don't feel confident any meds will help. I'm also embarrassed each time I have to talk to my OBGYN about it. I'm just having a super hard time. Thank you for your reply

I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You should ask your doctor if Lysine supplement is appropriate during pregnancy. There are a lot of contradictory information on internet. Maybe it can help. Stay strong!
