    Hi Jennifer

i have used thickening shampoos of different kinds, but didnt stop the hair thinning

kelp 1000mg stopped that for me ..

as for appetite .. i had a 10 year peri and taste and appetite does change abit, some things i use to eat i dont like now, and i only eat little portions etc

i had to eat little and often as i would feel faint, and had three faints in my early peri.

i always force breakfast down whether i want it or not or i feel fainty..

so now i eat two weetabix most mornings .. this is new as i use to detest weetabix hahahaha like i say tastes change ( well they did for me) and now i like my weetabix.

i lost weight in peri too,  went very thin.. not nice, i am not heavy now only 125lb but peri affects alsorts but we all vary with the severity of symptoms.

i took Maca 5.1 capsules in early peri and it helped alot also i was advised to take calcium and vit D daily by the doc so took Natecal a mix of both.

    still take my Maca ..

i am age 50 now and post meno but I take lots of vits and minerals and had a natural peri no HRT

Yes my hair texture thinned out a lot. I used to have thick, long and luxurious hair but not now. I have had a pretty bad bout of appetite and weight loss since peri symptoms hit. I used to be 150lbs and am now somewhere in the 130's. I recently recovered my appetite and eat three meals on a good day. I have gained 2-3 pounds. I increased my b12 intake which helped tremendously.

My hair went thin and lifeless, so my long hair is now short , which helps and I use the

Elvive shampoo and conditioner without sulphites.. Works for me.

however my appetite has reduced and I go to the gym,,play golf, etc I eat healthy food but have gained half a stone this year ... It's really depressing me. I take Calcium and Vit D, vit B and Omega 3 ..... Going to try the 5:2 diet like someone suggested... But any other advice would be appreciated ladies !!
