Hello sarah. It's highly unlikely you've done anything wrong unless you've been doing cart wheels. The chances are it's because of the surgery the trauma due to repairing the prolapse because there's lots of pushing and pulling that takes place.

Thanks Matron for your reassurance I was really worried. Bit confused though about taking it easy. Should I be walking to the end of the drive ( about 2 cars length) and just add a little more each day?

For the first 2-3 weeks you should do absolutely nothing and don't lift at all apart from a kettle with just enough water to make a cuppa. After 3 weeks then go for little walks but not on your own. After that build up gradually but don't rush things. When you're tired stop and don't push yourself and don't be a martyr!! Listen to your body is my favourite saying. At about 6 weeks you can drive if you feel up to it but just short journeys and again stop as soon as you get tired.

Any woman who copes with this surgery is definitely not a wimp!

Hi Matron, the pain in my back has eased as I'm taking it really easy now. But I noticed some discharge when I had a shower, not blood stained or smelly but sorry for description but a bit like snot. Is that normal?

Yes that's perfectly normal sarah and you'll probably continue to see some strange coloured discharge over the next few weeks.
