Hi Ladies, have any of you experienced an itch around your groin area?

To be more precise(without being too graphic)it's more around the outer Labia? I am aware us women can experience vaginal dryness/itch during perimenopause, but has anyone else experienced this itch? I am 49 and have had no period for 4 months. Have had this itch for past couple of years. GP prescribes Daktacort cream. Anyone else suffer this or just me? Thanks x

Hi Kim, isn't it horrible! I nearly didn't ask the question as I thought it was just me had this! There are times it's really irritating, particularly at night for some reason. X

Hi there, no it's not just you. I've had the same on and off. I'm also 49 and reached the menopause 4 years ago. I also get stinging when I wee sometimes, usually after sex. All I can say to the men in our lives "be gentle guys! Donna xxx

Oh jo, there's nights I could draw blood with the itch! I noticed I was getting it before my periods for the last couple of years. Now my periods are less frequent, I have the itch regularly. My skin, where the itch is, is quite dry some times now too.

The skin there on mine is quite dry as well. I saw someone comment that they use monistat cream. I'm going to try that!

Yes, it's common during perimenopause. It will manifest itself a few times around throughout this phase. I bought a monistat cream that came with another cream that stops itching. It was the best buy ever. I haven't had the itch since. Also, for the ladies with vaginal dryness, pain after sex, what you have is vaginal atrophy, where the skin becomes extremely thin. I recommend you use either coconut oil or vitamin e. As these will help reduce the pain.

I bought it at my local pharmacy. It's called miconazole nitrate vaginal cream 2% and it came with an external valvular cream that's also called miconazole nitrate cream 2% for external use only. Maybe you can look for it online if you can't find it in the store hope this helps xx

Yes! I used bag balm, it works. Not sure if your supposed to use it for things like that (think it's harmless??) but.....had to do something, I couldn't function. And it worked so....
