Hi there,
My grandpa is almost 90 years old and he's had heart problems all his life. He's also had high blood pressure and therefore has been taking medications to counteract it. Last year he had a peacemaker installed. He's also had high levels of Creatinine in his blood and therefore the doctors have prescribed him Lasix which is known to lower creatinine but one of its side effects is hypotension and therefore he's stopped taking heart medications for hypertension. The problem now is that even after he stopped taking his medicine for hypertension, Lasix is causing a significant hypotension and therefore I was wondering if there's anything that he can take to counteract this side effect. I was also wondering if there is any other drug that can be used to decrease the creatinine levels in his blood which doesn't cause hypotension? Can he start a strict vegetarian diet and stop his medication altogether?
Thanks in advance for your help.
