    Denise,

I do not have these problems but unfortunately and I'm very sorry to tell you this, but I have been reading about and seeing attorneys on TV talking about defective and recalled hip prosthetics and you have the symptons. This is in the US. Have you talked to your doctor about this? You sure don't want him to use the same kind of implant if it's defective.

I am 10 wks post THR with no problems so far.

    Good luck,

    Kathee

Denise, I do not have any clicking or locking.  My first thought after reading your discussion was that you are going to need your first THR leg be your strong leg after you have the second one done, so try to resolve this as soon as you can and put off the next THR if you have to.

My first THR went perfectly, amazingly so and it is still perfect.  However my second one was the complete opposite.  I feel thankful to have one strong leg and hip to rely upon as I face a revision surgery in Feb. 2015.

Sure hope you can get to the bottom of this.

I had the clicking in my hip for 34 years but the hip joint didn't deteriorate until I was older. However after I saw the surgeon prior to surgery he told me that the clicking and sticking was the start of the arthritis in the hip.  I am now 12 days into recovery of anterior hip replacement and the pysio is now showing that the second hip needs replacing. Up until now the second hip was ok but suddenly it is stiff, clicking and sticking too. As soon as I'm recovered from the first op my surgeon has promised the second one! I'm delighted with my progress and follow to the letter everything to do with my recovery.  Im looking forward to an arthritis free rest of my life!
