hiv scare please help

Hey. I am 25 years old. I recently had protected vaginal sex with a woman. Exactly three weeks later I had mild fewer, slight cough and cold and burning sensation in my eyes. With the incident described above do I have a chance of contracting hiv. Please reply. I am sick worried. And at a place where I cannot discuss it with anyone. Please help.

    It all depends on the details of your encounter. If there was absolutely no exchange of body fluids then there is no chance of transmission. But of course .you cannot guarantee that. If you also had oral sex, especially if there was blood around. you could well be infected. In that event you should worry not only about HIV but other sexually transmitted diseases as well. But it is not just STDs with which you may have been infected, The are plenty of viruses around that can make you very ill. You do not explain why you cannot discuss this issue with anyone. You also have a responsibility to other people not to spread disease. You may have caught a minor illness that will pass. You may be about to be very ill. Please be brave and take responsibility for yourself and others.

    I think it is a coincidence and you are being paranoid. Was she a sex worker, is this why you are so concerned?

    You used a condom and the condom didn't break, so I wouldn't worry about it. Other STDs you can get even w a condom that didn't break are herpes and warts.
