Hi ladies

Has anyone on here done the blood test that you send away for re hormone levels ?

The one where you prick your finger and send it off and you get an answer in 24 hours ?

Has anyone been prescribed hrt based on their symptoms rather than on their blood test results? An endocrinologist told me last week that these hormone blood tests are not conclusive as they can change drastically from one week to the next!

      Hi michelle

Do you mind me asking you how old you were when you had hrt prescribed and were you still having periods? 😀

Yes I have. I don't understand it. Isn't the dosage a shot in the dark then? What if you are estrogen dominant? So then on top of that you give yourself more estrogen? What if all you need is progesterone?

That's why I still haven't tried the HRT I have. I'm looking for a more thorough doc. Someone who will at least do an fsh

      Hi michelle

How have you found it so far, has it improved your symptoms , any side effects? which brand is it?

Sorry for all the q's but I'm thinking of going down this route myself.

      Thanks 😀

It's been quite good. I think it eased my depression and anxiety by about week 4. Other symptoms have slightly eased. My headaches are still severe and everyday. I'm not sure of any side effects yet. I really want my hormone levels checked but my doctor is very unhelpful.

      Hi Michelle

      Thanks for your reply

just returned from the doctors , I'm having an FSH and LH blood test done on Monday. I have an appt at the menopause clinic on Friday ( waited months for this) not sure what to expect but hope to find out if they think my symptoms are perimenopause.
