Horrible back pain

Hi. I'm going through perimenopause and recently my back has started hurting really badly. Sometimes it's my lower back that hurts and the pain even goes as far as my neck. I've had a back injury in the past but was fine until a few weeks ago. Has anyone else had back pains because of perimenopause?

Absolutely! I wake up some days and I have to physically adjust the way I'm laying because I hurt so bad! Especially a week or 2 before my period. It wakes me from a dead sleep.

That's one of the most frustrating things for me that lying down doesn't bring any relief sad

Hi Simone sorry to hear you are suffering! I have been having terrible back ache lately, struggling to lead a normal life with it sad Like you I have a history of lower back ache but not for years and not on this level! It's definitely on the peri list of symptoms but my GP won't listen - paying to go to a private gynaecologist on Monday so will report back then!

      Hi Lucy

Yes indeed. I have back episodes from time to time. Usually upper left back by my shoulder blade. Its awful forca while and then just vanishes for weeks at a time. I try to just go with it and tell myself it will pass....

    Hi Simone,

I've read that old injuries and/or illnesses can show up in peri, so that may be why. I hope you feel better soon!

Anything you can do to destress helps, too. Ashwaghanda is a good balancer. B vitamines are very important too. They are also needed, along with zinc, to synthesize hormones
