I've started taking Celexa 10mg after stopping it for almost 8 months. I dont remember ever having this intense episodes of what I can only describe as a heat sensation or flushed feeling from my upper body up to my head. I am severly anxious and live in constant fear. I have a blood pressure monitor at home and when i get that heat sensation my bp is also over the 120/80 normal range. Never really extremely high but still elevated. Anyone else experience any of this?? I'm on day 4 of 10mg. Feeling hopeless.

Yes I had taken celxa 40 for many years never any sideeffects. Went off for anout 8 months. Have recently gone back on 20 mg. with horrible side effects and the hot feeling was part of it. Along with terrible anxiety, panic, nausea, unable to sit still, and just had to stay in bed for a couple of days and sleep. I am a little over 3 weeks in and only the nervouness and aniety remain and they argettin better. The others lasted about  10 days for me. Hooe thisheps! It is not hopeless. You just gotta hang in there.

yes cmar, i experienced exactly the same as you, and more.

However I gave up after 4 weeks, along with docs advice, and am coming down off the 20mg to 10mg each day. Very good for first 4-5 days but a bit worried now because am feeling very anxious again, just hoping I'm not going to go through bad withdrawal

The really bad side-effects did only last for the first few days though so hopefully you won't feel as bad very soon, then its up to you whether you think they are right for you?

    Good luck

I'm currently on week 2 of taking 10mg of citalopram and definitely get the side effects of the flushed feeling. It's almost like you're skin feels like it's burning. I wouldn't worry. I believe it's just a side effect just like everything else. Stay strong! You can do it =)
