I have a divisum due to a birth defect. I had the Whipple surgery in December of 2016. As part of the surgery procedure, they took out the head of my pancreas, my GALLBLADDER, and 40% of my intestines. It took about a year to recover. I am not in much pain. I hope that you feel better soon.
