How do I tell my boyfriend I have genital herpes

I'm 19 years old and was just told today that I have genital herpes. It was a really hard and confusing thing to hear, but my main worry was how I'm going to tell my boyfriend of a year and a half. I've done a lot of research and I know that you may not show symptoms for even years, and in that case I have no idea who or when I've gotten this. I'm having a loooot of anxiety about what do to about my relationship right now and how to tell my boyfriend... please help me

    It's possible he gave it to you...remember that...

    In all likelihood, you probably got it from him. First outbreaks nearly always occur within a week of infection.
