How soon after rectocele surgery did you bathe?

I can't remember what I was told as far as bathing goes. I'm 2 weeks out and I've taken a couple of baths already. Could I have done any damage? See the doctor today and keep thinking things will be mushy inside!! Lol please reassure me.

It all depends on what type of sutures are used as to whether you can have a bath or you should shower for the first 6 weeks.

My surgeon told me I could bath or shower from the day after the surgery was done.

I would contact your consultant or the staff on the ward. You should have been advised before you were discharged. I was told showers only for 6 weeks following my operation. No 2 women are the same and consultants have their own different pieces of advice. If you are not meant to have a bath you will make your stitches wet

Remember everyone recovers at different rates, you only have to read the posts on this forum. It's a very difficult question to answer because even if your consultant gives you the ok you still may not feel strong enough.
